Bright Light Solar recently installed solar panels for a local
business, Eaton Door and Frame, in Salem, NH.
Eaton Door and Frame wanted to install solar panels on its roof to help lower its monthly energy costs. Eaton Door and Frame came to Bright Light Solar to accomplish this task. The finished product can be seen below.
This
installation was for a 65KW (Kilowatt) project. The finished panels will
generate 65KW of energy for the business.
As a result of this solar panel
installation, Eaton Door and Frame will save $1,400 per month on its energy costs and the entire project will pay for itself in 2.5 years. That is a whopping
40% return on investment.
In addition to
saving on its monthly energy costs, Eaton Door and Frame will receive all of the $50,000 state cash
rebates available for those businesses that install solar panel systems.
Eaton Door and Frame will also receive
30% in federal tax credits as well as
depreciation at their tax rate.
And if all
those money saving benefits were not enough, Eaton Door and Frame will be eligible for at least $3,200 in REC sales each year (at today's current rate). What are REC sales? REC, or
Renewable Energy Certificate, sales are essentially green energy sales in the
stock market. A company who may not be able to reduce its carbon footprint as
required can purchase RECs to help lower its carbon footprint. A company that
may be looking to achieve “green” status can also purchase RECs to achieve
“green” status.
